We are pleased to report that Affirmed Networks continues to expand its leadership and traction with Tier One operators in all part of the world. The latest example of Affirmed’s market traction is the recent completion of a Proof of Concept (PoC) test at KDDI, one of Japan’s largest providers of fixed and mobile services.
Conducted at KDDI’s Research and Development Center (aka KDDI R&D Labs) the test was referred to by KDDI as the “world’s first proof of concept (PoC) of fully automated, closed-loop operation process for telecom networks consisting of virtualized equipment for mobile and fixed services.”
In the press release on the completion of the POC, KDDI identified SDN/NFV technologies as the foundation for its infrastructure enabling a 5th generation (5G) of mobile offerings that will require the flexibility and diversity that NFV delivers.
As a result of these benefits, KDDI conducted the test to evaluate NFV as part of a 5G service offering capable of supporting new, emerging applications such as IoT and M2M.
Affirmed Networks is honored to have had the opportunity to be part of such a comprehensive test of the real-world benefits of NFV. Having the chance to work together with industry-leading partners like KDDI to revolutionize way in which networks are built is tremendously exciting and is the reason we are so passionate about our mission as a company.
