Company Recognized for Customer Traction, Commitment to Innovation, and Partner Ecosystem; All of Which are Paving the Way for the Industry’s Migration to 5G
We are thrilled, surprised and excited to share that Affirmed Networks has just been named “Private Company of the Year” by Light Reading at the annual “Leading Lights” awards reception at the Big Communications Event taking place in Austin, Texas this week.
Named the winner from among four very deserving finalists, we received the award for our work helping guide network operators through a transformation of their networks, for our continued ability to deliver innovative solutions to the market, and for our ecosystem of technology partners.
During the ceremony, Light Reading provided examples reflecting our success in each of these areas, including our current work with some of the world’s top network operators, such as AT&T, Vodafone and Telus (we currently have 37 customers and another 40 trials underway); our ability to deliver new solutions like our Affirmed Service Automation Platform (ASAP); and for our creation of an impressive ecosystem, which consists of technology leaders like Juniper, HP, EMC, VMWare and Intel, and is focused on helping communications service providers to quickly and easily make the transition to NFV.
In addition to our accomplishments, Light Reading also recognized our vision for the continued evolution of the industry as a differentiating factor in making their decision: “Affirmed is making a move more deeply into core future growth areas, including the Internet of Things and, most recently, 5G wireless, where it is promising a new architecture as well.”
As a company, innovation has always been part of our DNA, and we aren’t done innovating yet – we see a tremendous opportunity to contribute to the industry’s migration to 5G. While it may feel that 5G services are a few years off, the reality is that operators are investing in both 4G and 5G when they choose Affirmed, as we are focused on providing a smooth continuum between the two generations.
While we know that 5G networks will have different requirements than 4G networks – they’ll need to be more flexible, more scalable, more intelligent and less expensive to operate – many of the same benefits they offer can also help mobile service providers reduce costs and accelerate revenue opportunities today. We have built our solutions with the future in mind to provide a seamless path that allows mobile service providers to enhance their existing 4G/LTE network while at the same time building the foundation for their 5G networks of the future.
Once again, we appreciate the praise and recognition and are honored and humbled to receive such a coveted award as “Private Company of the Year” from one of the most respected observers of our industry. We would like to thank Light Reading for the honor, to acknowledge the other finalists for their contributions to our industry. We would also like to recognize our customers who put their trust in us to help guide their networks through the transformations of today and tomorrow.
