What’s in the Future for NFV?

From the start, the concept of transforming mobile networks towards NFV largely stemmed from the business forces behind it, driving a migration away from the unsustainable economics of the current operator network models.whiteford_small

Presently, it has become evident just how pivotal NFV technology is in creating viable business models, with real, prime time deployments in Tier 1 operators. Specifically, Affirmed Networks has over 20 deployments globally, with 40 more trials underway.

However, it’s not just the fact that mobile networks are decisively shifting towards NFV that stirs up so much commotion in the telco space, it’s what this transformation means for the future of mobile networks.

Hassan Ahmed talks about how the flexibility and programmability of NFV technology will initiate a more rapid rate of service innovation and drastically improve revenue streams for network operators as the breadth of this technology continues to increase.
