Hassan Ahmed, Chairman and CEO
Hassan most recently has been an advisor at Charles River Ventures. Prior to that he served as the Chairman and CEO of Sonus Networks (Nasdaq-SONS), which he took public in 2000. Previously he had been EVP and GM of the Core Switching division of Ascend Communications. Ascend had acquired Cascade Communications where he had served as the Chief Technology Officer. Hassan has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Tim Barrows is a general partner at Matrix Partners, where he has invested in technology start-ups for twenty-five years. In his role as a lead investor and board member, Tim has assisted entrepreneurs in ushering ventures from their earliest stages through to successful outcomes. More than fifteen of the companies he helped establish and grow have gone onto successful acquisitions or initial public offerings.
Jon Auerbach is a general partner at Charles River Ventures, where his focus is identifying and investing in innovative companies poised to become category leaders. Previously, Jon was a general partner at Highland Capital Partners. With more than a decade of experience, he has invested in numerous successful start-ups, including Starent Networks, Quattro Wireless, Optasite, and CCTV. Jon is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and is a frequent speaker.
Bob Goodman is a founding partner of Bessemer’s New York office, and is focused on software, mobile, digital media and healthcare IT. Previously, Bob founded two successful telecommunications companies: wireless-equipment company Celcore, acquired by Alcatel in 1997; and Boatphone, a group of cellular operating companies in the Caribbean. He holds a B.A. from Brown University, an MBA from Columbia University and serves on several non-profit boards including Met Council, The Play Group Theatre, and the National Venture Capital Association.
Steve Elfman is a true innovator in the telecommunications and mobile communications market. From 2008 until his recent retirement, Elfman served as President of Network Operations and Wholesale at Sprint. Previously, Elfman held management positions at several industry-leading companies such as InfoSpace Mobile, Motricity, Terabeam, AT&T Wireless, GE Capital and 3M Company. Steve holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
